The Soft Cranesbill (Geranium molle ) is a plant from the family of Geranium Family ( Geraniaceae ).

Description

The Soft Cranesbill is an annual herbaceous plant that reaches the plant height of 10 to 45 cm. It resembles the little cranesbill very. However, its stems and petioles in two rows with about 2 mm long hairs are occupied. There also are located on the plant only a few glandular hairs. The stem leaves are usually arranged opposite one another, their leaf blades are five to nine pieces. There are Stipules present.

The flowers are hermaphrodite standing in pairs, radial symmetry and fünfzählig. The five short- inked, hairy, green sepals are usually 2.5 to 5.5 ( 1-6 ) mm long. The gap fruit is 0.8 to 1.4 cm long. The fruit valves are mostly bare and tender querrunzelig.

Occurrence

The Soft Cranesbill originated in the Mediterranean and sub-Mediterranean area, but is now naturalized in other parts of Europe. He prefers to grow on sunny lawn loose on cultural and fallow land and sand dunes. He is most common on sandy soils in relatively dry waste places and partly disturbed meadows. Ecology
