Gerard Jones

Gerard Jones (* July 10, 1957 in Cut Bank, Montana ) is an American writer ( nonfiction ) and comic book writer.

Life and work

Jones grew up in Los Gatos and Gilroy, a small town in California, and later moved to San Francisco, where he still lives and the writers group " San Francisco Writers ' grotto ' belongs.

The authored by Jones -fiction books include Men of Tomorrow: Geeks, Gangsters and the Birth of the Comic Book ( 2004), for which he was awarded the Eisner Award, Killing Monsters: Why Children Need Fantasy, Super Heroes and Make- Believe Violence ( 2002) and Honey I'm Home: sitcoms Selling the American Dream (1993). In addition, he has written articles for many years for National Lampoon. The release of his next book, True Story, is scheduled for 2008.

Between 1989 and 2001, Jones wrote also numerous comic books for publishers Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics and Viz Comics. He contributed stories for known series like Batman, Green Lantern, Guy Gardner, Justice League, El Diablo, Wonder Man, The Shadow and Pokémon.
