Gérard Lelièvre

Gérard Lelièvre ( born November 13, 1949 in Laval, Mayenne ) is a French former touring.

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he was over 20 km of walking ninth. In 1979, he won over the same distance gold medal at the Mediterranean Games.

At the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980, he started on the 50 -km distance, but did not reach the goal.

In 1982, he was fourth over 20 km at the European Athletics Championships in Athens, 1983, he was the same distance fifth in the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki and won a silver medal at the Mediterranean Games. The following year, he opted for a double start at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, but did not get more than 20 km above the 15th place out and was about 50 km again.

At the end of his career he won in 1985 at the IAAF World Indoor Games in Paris about 5000 m.

After his playing career he became a coach and now serves as coach, the French walker.

Overall, he won 13 national titles in a row over 20km ( 1972-1984 ), ten to 50 km ( 1973-1977, 1979-1983 ) and seven in the hall about 5000 m ( 1978 to 1984 ).
