Gerard Plessers

Gerard Plessers ( born March 30, 1959 in Overpelt ) is a retired Belgian footballer.

Playing career

Plessers began his career at Standard Liege in 1975. During this time he was twice run in the Belgian league titles (1982, 1983), once the Belgian Cup (1981) and twice the Belgian Supercup (1981, 1983). In 1984 he moved to Germany for Hamburger SV. In Germany, he was able to win with the Northern Lights in 1987 the German Cup. In 1988 he returned to Belgium and signed a contract with KRC Genk. After only a year he had another three years his career at KV Kortrijk finish.

International players career

Plessers took part in the European Championships in Italy in 1980, where he was with the team vice European champion. At the World Championships in Spain in 1982, he retired with the Belgians in the second round as group Last from.

Coach

After his playing career he trained, among others, KVV Overpelt Fabriek, in the late 1990s, the KV Turnhout and 2003 the KFC Dessel Sport.
