Gerd Achterberg

Gerd Achterberg ( born December 4, 1940) is a former German football player and football coach, who worked exclusively in Berlin.

Career

As a player, Achterberg was active only at amateur club Spandau BC. As a coach, but he stood at eight clubs under contract, including seven teams on amateur basis. His only club in the professional camp was Tennis Borussia Berlin, whose first team he took to the 1984/85 season in the third division. A year later promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. After only three wins from their first twelve games of the season 1985/86 Achterberg was replaced by Eckhard Krautzun. At the end of the season TeBe rose from the 2nd Bundesliga again.
