Gerd Andres

Gerd Andres ( born April 8, 1951 in Wirges Westerwald ) is a German politician ( SPD).

He was from 1998 to 2002 Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, from 2002 to 2005 at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour and 2005-2007, Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

Life and career

After attending elementary school Andres completed an apprenticeship as a machinist with subsequent technical examinations. On the night school he acquired the High school. He served from 1972 to 1973 his community service at the AWO from. From 1974 to 1998 he was secretary of the board of the IG Chemie, paper, ceramics, and here from 1981 to 1987 Head of the Department of Education.

From 1987 to 2009 Andres is a Hanoverian deputy member of the German Bundestag. From 1988 to 1998 he was here board member of the SPD parliamentary group. From 1997 to 1998 he was also a social policy spokesman of the SPD.

Gerd Andres is always drawn as a directly elected representative of the constituency town of Hanover I in the Bundestag. In the 2005 federal election he reached here 52.9% of the primary vote. At the 2009 federal election Andres did not occur again. His party nominated on 12 December 2008 Kerstin Tack as a constituency candidate in his former constituency. In the 2009 federal election Tack won the direct mandate again for the SPD.

Public offices

After the 1998 election Gerd Andres was on 27 October 1998 appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the Federal Minister for Labour and Social Affairs in led by Chancellor Gerhard Schröder government (Cabinet Schröder I). After the parliamentary elections in 2002, this ministry was merged with the Ministry of Economy. Andres was therefore appointed on 22 October 2002 on the Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Economics and Labour (Cabinet Schröder II).

After the parliamentary elections in 2005, the departments were again separated and Andres on 23 November 2005 at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs appointed Parliamentary Secretary (Cabinet Merkel I). Following the resignation of Labor Minister Franz Müntefering also Andres retired on 22 November 2007 from the Office.

Awards

On 21 June 2007 Gerd Andres was awarded for his contribution to the common good with the Federal Cross of Merit 1st class. He received the award in particular because of its long-standing commitment to the German -Turkish relations. He also sat down for many years for the integration of migrants in the Federal Republic a.
