Gerd Kaminski

Gerd Kaminski ( born December 14, 1942 in Vienna) is an Austrian jurist and expert on China.

Kaminski studied law and Chinese language at the University of Vienna. Since 1971 he has headed the Austrian- Chinese society. Since his habilitation in 1978, he leads the Boltzmann - Institute for China and Southeast Asia Research in Vienna. In addition, he held several visiting professorships, including at the State University of New York at Buffalo and at Peking University, held. He is also in matters relating to China, Advisor to the Austrian Foreign Ministry. One of his main research focus is the Chinese conception of international law. He traveled to Asia over 70 times and already wrote more than 35 relevant books.
