Gerd Truntschka

Gerd Truntschka ( born September 10, 1958 in Landshut ) is a former ice hockey player.

Career

The center forward Gerd Truntschka was to his playing days as one of the technically best German players, and together with his strike partner Dieter nurture from 1986 for many years one of the most successful players duo of the German ice hockey. In this duo Center Truntschka yielded mostly the templates that nurture transformed into goals. In the NHL Amateur Draft 1978 Truntschka was pulled from the St. Louis Blues at position 200.

Truntschka played of the season 1975/1976 bis 1978/1979 for his hometown club EV Landshut. Between 1979/1980 and 1988/1989 he played for the Cologne EC. With the Cologne EC Truntschka was four times German champion and twice Hockey League - leading scorer. Together with nurture Trunschka changed at the beginning of the hockey season 1989/1990 the Düsseldorf EC and played there until 1991/ 1992. Here he won three league titles. Then he played for two years for the EC Hedos Munich. There Truntschka ended after the 1993/1994 season with his eighth league title of his career.

Overall graduated Gerd Truntschka 858 first division matches (including playoffs ) and 215 games in the German national team. In the Bundesliga, he scored 1,420 points scorer and making it the second most points by Mike Nash, who has to have only eleven points more. Regarding templates in Germany, no one was better than Gerd Truntschka, here he scored 943 assists. In addition to the eight league titles, he was many times player of the year in the trade press and two-time Bundesliga scorer king.

In the German national ice hockey team - where he spent many years as team captain - posted Trunschka in 215 games 51 goals. He was a member of the All-Star Team of the World Cup 1987.

After his career end Truntschka pulled completely back from hockey and disappeared from the public eye except for occasional appearances at the games as a hobby tradition organized team of EV Landshut. In 1999 he founded a company for the manufacture of food supplements.

Familial

His younger brother Bernd was also professional hockey player and national team and played with him and " Didi " nurture at the Düsseldorf EC in a forward line. His nephew Nico Krämmer stands since 2012 at the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract.
