Gerda Verburg

Gerritje Verburg, known as Gerda Verburg ( born August 19, 1957 in Zwammerdam in Alphen aan den Rijn ) is a Dutch politician of the Christian Democratisch Appèl (CDA ). In the Cabinet Balkenende IV from 2007 to 2010 she was Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.

Life

Verburg grew up in an era marked by the agriculture family. She attended the MAVO and HAVO Bodegraven and Alphen aan den Rijn. In 1976 she began a study in Kampen. She then worked as general secretary of the Christian Rural Youth. 1982 she moved to professionally Christelijk Nationaal Vakverbond. Private Verburg is very athletic, rides and runs marathons and lives with her ​​partner Willy Westerlaken, a childhood friend with whom she has been dating for over 25 years, in Woerden.
