Gerhard Gleich

Gerhard Gleich ( born October 23, 1941 in Prague) is an Austrian artist and until 2007 was an associate professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.

Life

He grew up as Gerhard Feest, son of Hertha Feest and Feest Walter, in Braunau, Marienhof and Vienna. After visiting the mission private school St. Rupert in Bischofshofen, he passed the Matura in high school Stubenbastei in Vienna and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Albert Paris Gütersloh. From 1972 to 1997 he was assistant there in the master class of Wolfgang Hollegha. Until 2007 he worked as an associate professor in the Department of conceptual art. Since his marriage in 2000) with the Polish-Austrian painter Joanna Gleich he has accepted their surname. After early exhibitions in Vienna and Paris, he has become the commercial art market largely beyond. Most of his paintings, bas-reliefs, polyester or wood objects are known only to collectors and friends. He has three children ( Gaspard, Jalle, Ania ) and is the brother of Christian Feest and Feest Johannes.
