Gerhard Hildebrand

Gerhard Hildebrand ( * 1877) was a German journalist and since 1903 a member of the SPD. His main work was the book 's 1910 The vibration of industry domination and industrial socialism, in which he doubted, among other things, an economy should be fully socialized, the importance of agricultural production emphasized and advocated the acquisition of colonies. As this was contrary to the strict socialist and anti-imperialist course of the SPD, he was expelled on September 16, 1912 the Congress in Chemnitz for gross breach of the principles of the party program of the party. His defenders included, among other things, Eduard Bernstein and Wolfgang Heine. Hildebrand stressed to stay despite the exclusion Social Democrat and represented continue its positions in publishing.
