Gerhard Riedmann

Gerhard Anton Ried man; ( Born March 24, 1925 in Vienna, † 9 February 2004 in Kematen in Tirol ) was an Austrian actor.

Life

The son of a railway official was among the Vienna Boys' Choir and received his schooling at the Vienna secondary school. He studied early forties violin at the Academy of Music until he was drafted into military service. From 1945 to 1946 he attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar. He made his debut in 1947 at the Theater in der Josefstadt. From 1953 to 1955 he worked at the Munich Chamber games, then in Zurich, Hamburg and numerous guest appearances.

Became known Gerhard Ried man primarily as a film actor. After a few minor roles him in 1953 his breakthrough as Adam succeeded in a film adaptation of the operetta The Bird Seller. In many operetta films and home movies of the fifties Ried man was as irresistible charmer of the main characters, which he often showed his singing perfect proficiency. His partners included, among other things, Waltraud Haas, Renate Holm and Marianne Hold.

In the sixties Ried man was especially television actor, in which he again took up his impressive tasks in operetta films. After that, he was still seen in some less important supporting roles.

On 15 July 1954 he married in Muggendorf, community Wiesenttal the actress Eva Probst, of which he was divorced in 1960. The marriage produced a daughter, Eva -Maria went (c. 1955) shows. In 1960 he married the industrialist 's daughter Anita Swarovski and worked as a manager of a project group of the glass and optics industries in the factory of his father with. Ried husband, father of seven children, lived most recently with his third wife Gertrud in Kematen (Tyrol ), where his grave is.
