Gerhard Sperling

Gerhard Sperling ( born November 25, 1937 in Berlin ) is a German track and field athlete and Olympic athlete who was successful as a walker in the 1960s and 1970s. The highlight of his career was the silver medal in the 20 km walk at the European Championships 1971 ( 1:27:29,0 h).

1966, 1968, 1969 and 1971 he was East German champion in the 20 - km walk.

Gerhard Sperling was a member of the club TSC Berlin. In its competition time, he was 1.87 m tall and weighed 74 kg. Gerhard Sperling was one of the few deaf world-class athletes.
