German Armed Forces Deployment Medal

The use of the Bundeswehr medal is awarded to German and foreign military personnel. The coin has a diameter of 35 mm and on the obverse is the federal eagle in a stylized laurel wreath. The back is free. The medal is worn on a 30 mm wide band, which consists of a red base band with black, red and gold edge trim.

Formation

The endowed on 25 April 1996 medal was awarded first and only time retroactively on 26 June 1996 for use abroad within the framework of the UN contingent of the UN Protection Force in Croatia ( UNPF ) by the Federal Minister of Defense Volker Ruhe. The medal is awarded in a single embossing in the execution in bronze, silver or gold and differs only in the use designation on the same color clasp to the medal ( see list below). The silver and gold version of the coin was founded on 28 January 2003. The medal may be awarded in addition to other medals for the same use, such as the United Nations Medal, the ESDP Medal or the NATO medal for the same application.

In November 2010, the use of combat medal was instituted as a special stage of the application Medal of the Bundeswehr. It was the first time on 25 November 2010 Guttenberg retroactively posthumously one on 29 April 2009 at Kunduz fallen German soldiers, the Corporal Sergei Motz, awarded by the Federal Minister of Defence Karl -Theodor and handed over to his relatives.

Purpose of the Foundation

The use Medal of the Bundeswehr has been donated in humanitarian, peace or peace preserved honest measures for all German soldiers and their civilian employees a visible sign of the participation in missions or special use abroad.

Award criteria

The conditions which lead to the award of the Medal of use, the following periods of service in the context of inserts or special uses are:

Ceremony practice

The award of the Medal of use has to be made in the prestigious setting. The Beliehenen receive a signed certificate by the Federal Minister for Defence, which also carries the small federal seal. The medal shall become the property of Beliehenen with ceremony. The use medal may be awarded in exceptional cases, to foreign military personnel if they have rendered special services to the armed forces in the context of the inserts or special uses.

Use medal battle

Carrying method

On the day of the ceremony, the use medal is worn in original size field Suit, service dress and evening dress. Otherwise, it is because they will be awarded with ribbon, worn on service dress on the band buckle at the highest level awarded. The use of stage combat medal may thereby be worn next to the other application medals. For special official occasions, state receptions / State acts or personal reasons for special social events both use medals, as well as the combat medal in original size on the service and can be worn ( miniature size ) evening dress.

Appearance

The medal is bronze, silver or gold, has a diameter of 35 mm and shows on its obverse the center adorned with embossed German eagle within two crossed below and upward curved open laurel branches. The reverse is smooth and empty. The 30 mm wide red ribbon has a black, red and gold trim. On the medal ribbon the clasp of the use or end-use shall be installed in accordance with the bronze of the loaned stage, silver or gold is kept.
