German Clarinet Duo

The German Clarinet Duo is a Klarinettenduo the musician and composer Theo Jörgensmann; Clarinet and Eckard Kolter man; Bass clarinet. The duo lasted from 1984 to 1998.

Work

Since the early 1980s Jörgensmann and Kolter men worked together intensively and regularly. From this collaboration, the clarinet quartet Cl -4 has emerged (1985-1987 ). Also, both founding members of the pit orchestra and sound were from 1985 to 1998 essential musical part of the Willem van Manen Contraband. They also formed with pianist Jeroen van Vliet and bassist Eric van der west, the impressionistic improvisers quartet ( IIQ ).

The German Clarinet Duo has performed at many international festivals such as Nuremberg, Krakow, Székesfehérvár, Amsterdam, Geneva ( with Manfred Karge ), Moers ( with Maria de Alvear ), Groningen, etc.

Music

The duo plays an expressive, improvised chamber music, in the musical communication has an important place. Their music contains elements of jazz and new music. These elements are connected by a jazzy interpretation of time together so that new musical spaces and unusual sound images.
