German Imperial Naval Cabinet

The Marine Cabinet was an authority in the German Empire, which was responsible for the processing of personal data and commanding stakes of the naval officers, midshipmen, naval infantry officers, marine engineers, marine, toys, fireworks and torpedo officers. It was created on 1 April 1889. Designed as an office for the exercise of command in maritime affairs, it evolved in practice to the ultimate authority in personnel matters of naval officers. It was directly subordinate to the emperor as Immediatbehörde, so was not subject to accountability to Parliament.

Chief of the Naval Cabinet had superior naval officer who was Adjutant of the Emperor at the same time. First Director of Naval Cabinet from 1889 to 1906 was Admiral Baron Gustav von Senden- Bibran. His successor until 1918 was Admiral Georg Alexander von Müller.

The Naval Cabinet of the German Emperor corresponded to the land forces, the Military Cabinet of the Prussian king.

On October 28, 1918, the navy cabinet was responsible to the Secretary of the Admiralty and converted to the Personnel Office in the Naval Office in December 1918.
