German Minority Electoral Committee

Election Committee German minority (Polish Komitet Wyborczy Mniejszość Niemiecka ) is called the election committee of the German minority in Poland, which is active in the Opole Voivodeship and was launched by the Social - Cultural Association of Germans in Opole Silesia. The full name of the committee is Election Committee Social - Cultural Association of Germans in Opole Silesia. For the Election Committee German minority as representative of a national minority, the 5 - percent threshold does not apply. The election committee in the Opole Voivodeship is the only of the German minority, which regularly takes part in elections and has a broad base. The Election Committee German Upper Silesia in Silesia, for example, previously took part in only a few choices.

In October 2010, the Committee launched its new campaign with the slogan "With Silesian character." 508 people competed for the committee as candidates for municipal councils. 35 people competed for the position as community leaders or the mayor. 174 people competed as candidates for district councils. For the Parliament of the Opole Voivodeship occurred on 37 candidates.

In the elections to the Parliament of the Opole Voivodeship on 21 November 2010, the Committee reached a score of 17.83 % and achieved the second highest share of the vote.
