German presidential election, 1994

In the election for President of Germany in 1994 by the Federal Assembly of the 10th President of the Federal Constitutional Court, Roman Herzog was elected the seventh President. Originally regarded as ultra conservative Steffen Heitmann was provided as a candidate of the Union parties, but this was withdrawn on the role of women on the Holocaust or of foreigners due to controversial remarks.
