Badge of Honour of the German Red Cross

Precursor

The Honour of the German Red Cross was first instituted in 1922 and awarded until 1934 in two classes:

A special form occupies the Decoration of the Red Cross of the Free City of Danzig, which had geschafften own decorations of the German Red Cross until 1934. From 1934 to 1939 this Honour was slightly modified and received at its upper end a small black enameled swastika. Externally it differed only slightly from the previous German decorations of the Red Cross. At its upper end, however, the crown had been placed from the coat of arms of Danzig. Beginning in 1939, the honor of the Red Cross emblem was not awarded and replaced by the Badge of Honour for German people care.

Another special case of the Medal of Honour of the German Red Cross was the decoration of the German Red Cross of the GDR. Held as round buttons, the German Red Cross of Honour of the German Democratic Republic was awarded a bronze, silver and gold. The diameter was about 25 mm and consisted of three rings. Its structure resembled a cockade. On the outer ring could be read above: GERMAN RED CROSS, and on the lower half GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC. The second ring was composed of oak leaves the bottom center the word: FOR MERIT, framing. The inner and last ring was enamelled white. Centric was the Red Cross, put also enamelled.

Today's form

The Honour of the German Red Cross in its present form was founded on May 8, 1953, when the German Red Cross, and is awarded by the President of the German Red Cross. It's a medal approved by the Federal President. The ceremony will take place in two classes. I class II class in gold and silver Both consist of a white enamel cross with landscaped Red Cross, which is enclosed in the respective color. To award belongs to a belt buckle. The DRK- performance clasp is awarded by the President of the German Red Cross. The ceremony will take place in two classes: silver and gold. It consists of a red cross on a white background, to the join each ornaments in the relevant award color. The performance clasp is worn on the right breast pocket on the seam. If the holder of the power clasp simultaneously wearing a badge, the power clasp is worn below the belt buckle above the chest pocket. The performance clasp is awarded to those individuals who distinguish themselves by outstanding performance in operations in the Red Cross service and provided for no other award or possible.

Years clasp

The annual clasp is awarded by the respective district chairman for five years of service. First row of Chart 5 -, 10 -, 15 -, 20 - and 25 -year-old activity. Second row 30 -, 35 -, 40 -, 45 -, 50 -, 55 - and 60 - years of employment at the German Red Cross. The award itself consists of only one belt buckle ( the first 25 years in silver, then to gold). The annual number is indicated with vertical red stripes. You will (including Youth Red Cross ) awarded for active membership in the DRC. The annual number is calculated from the beginning of the active membership, the sample time count.

Until 1977 the name was still teaching or badges lifeguard of DRC. The badge is awarded on request to meet appropriate testing conditions. The ceremony will take place in three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold, with the Bronze level is not honorary certificate in terms of religious law, the levels of gold and silver, however, are recognized by the Federal President as a badge of honor. The rescue swimming badge can be obtained by any person, provided that they fulfill the required conditions and the necessary checks there. The rescue swimming badge is worn separately as a miniature lapel pin, textile or metal bulk badge, belt buckle or religious miniature buckle. The last two versions but only in silver or gold. Only the highest level reached is applied respectively. The ribbon of ribbon buckle and miniature medal is blue in the Olympic colors, yellow, black, green and red structured ( 1:1:4:1:1 ).

Blood donor badges of the German Red Cross

The blood donation badge of honor is awarded by the blood transfusion service in different stages, depending on the number of blood donations. It is not bound to a membership in the DRC.

The DRK- state associations, as well as many district associations lead beyond many of my own badge as honor, power and helper badge in different forms. The award of these decorations is governed by the statutes of the organizations.
