A snorkel diving badge is generally a diving badge should prepare for the diving license. In contrast to the rescue swimming badge every organization has different badges in various difficulty levels. As a confirmation of a failed examination usually you will receive a certificate and a fabric patch.

Germany

In Germany, the German snorkel diving badges ( DSTA ) by the German Life Saving Society ( DLRG ) and the German snorkel badge in stages I, II and III approved by the lifeguard. The tests consist of a practical part, in which one learns how to use with diving mask, fins and snorkel, and a theoretical part where you should learn the rules of behavior and the basics of diving physics, as well as the main sub- watermarks, respectively.

Test conditions the DLRG

When DLRG the snorkel diving badge is part of the professional training of water rescue, but can also be purchased separately.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 12 years
  • Fitness to dive

The German snorkel badge of stage I is part of the training for junior water savior of stage I.

Prerequisite:

  • Minimum age 8 years
  • German Youth Swimming Badge in Silver

Practical test:

  • At least 100 m, maximum 200 m fin swimming without time limit and without a break, at least 50 m, maximum 100 m in sternal recumbency and at least 50 m, maximum 100 m in the supine position
  • At least 50 m, maximum 100 m snorkel swimming with no jump start with ABC equipment; this four times per dive and bringing up a small diving ring, water no deeper than 2.50 m
  • Descend to 1.80 m to 2.50 m depth, diving mask under water flooding ( are taking off and putting here is not required ) and blow it out or drain below the water surface. The diving mask should be empty during withdrawal
  • At least 25 m, maximum 50 m towing in the underarm grip; Rescuer swims with fins, Rescued swims without fins
  • At least 10 m, maximum 12 m distance diving in ABC equipment
  • At least 10 seconds, 15 seconds maximum time diving
  • "Correct " dive ( head or towards the feet ), to a maximum of 2.50 m and pulling up a small object (for example: Tauchring )

Theoretical exam:

  • Breathing, over breathing, breathing and pendulum
  • Water pressure and water temperature
  • Cause and detection of violations of the Skull Cave

Level II

The German snorkel badge of stage II is part of the training for junior water savior of the Stage II

Requirements:

  • Bestande examination of stage I snorkel badge

Practical test:

  • At least 100 m, maximum 200 m with a fin swim without time limit, arm movement is allowed
  • At least 150 m, maximum 200 m snorkel swimming with no jump start with ABC equipment, while six times real dive and pulling up each of a small dip ring; the water is no deeper than 3 m and the snorkel must be blown out each
  • Flood diving mask under water and blow out under the water surface or empty; the diving mask should be empty during withdrawal
  • 50 m towing in the underarm grip, rescuer swims with fins, Rescued swims without fins
  • At least 15 m, maximum 18 m apnea without start sheer and NBC equipment
  • At least 15 seconds, 30 seconds maximum time diving with low spatial variation
  • 3-5 m deep diving and bringing up a small object (for example: Tauchring )
  • Three times scuba diving in ABC equipment ( 3-5 m) with blow-out of the snorkel

Level III

The German snorkel badge of Stage III is part of the training for junior water savior of stage III.

Requirements:

  • Passed examination of stage II snorkel badge

Practical test:

  • 100m snorkel swim without jump start with ABC equipment, this six times and dive * Pulling up each of a small submersible ring; Water depth as possible while 3 m; while each blow the snorkel

Austria

The Austrian snorkel diving badges, the snorkel test will be taken by the Austrian Water Rescue ( ÖWR ). Switzerland

Test conditions of SLRG

The young freedivers in Switzerland is similar to the German and the Austrian badge snorkel diving snorkel test. He is trained in Switzerland by the Swiss Lifesaving Society ( SLRS ). In this case, each participant will receive a basic education free diving and swimming. Important parts of the course are: • Safe handling of fins, mask and snorkel • explanation of the different effects of the depth to the human body • Know the safety rules Diving • Repetition in emergency

Requirements:

  • Minimum age 11 years
  • Jugendbrevert the SLRG

( Must be completed fully in ABC equipment ) Practical test:

  • 200 m swim
  • 200 m style swimming with equipment

Swimming tests of Swimsports

Swimsports, the union of all swimming federations of Switzerland, has developed to learn the Swiss swimming test, a comprehensive methodological- didactic concept for swimming. Of the 60 different tests, 8 deal with the issue "ABC - diving" (fins, mask and snorkel ). The requirements are aligned with the practice and very versatile and demanding beginner to advanced. Here are two examples:

50 m swimming, proper use of mask and snorkel, 50 m swimming with NBC equipment, 10 m distance diving, forward roll followed by swimming, Abfaller backwards with mask.

100 m fin swimming ( women 63, men 60 seconds), 400 m swim with buddy breathing, 90 m swim 10 m dive victims from 3 m depth rescue involve transport 50 m and respiration 3 times 30 seconds dive with 10 seconds of rest, square dive with 6 m side length of 3 m depth, competition flip turn 10 m from the edge of the pool in 15 seconds.
