U 45 was a German U- Boat Type VII B, which was used in World War II by the Kriegsmarine.
History
The construction contract for the boat was awarded on 21 November 1936, the Germania shipyard in Kiel. The keel was laid on February 23, 1937, the launching on 27 April 1938 to the putting under Lieutenant Alexander Geelhaar on 25 June 1938.
The boat belonged to its sinking on 14 October 1939 as a training and front boat to Unterseebootflottille " Wegener " in Kiel. It took two patrols on which it could sink two ships with a total tonnage of 19,313 GRT.
