U 795 was a U- boat of the type XVIIA of the German Navy during the Second World War. The boat was one of four boats (U 792 to U 795), which were also built to use regular endurance testing of the Walter drive.
History
The boat was built at the Friedrich Krupp Germania Werft in Kiel from 2 February 1943. After it was put into operation on March 21, 1944, it was filed on April 22, 1944 under the command of Lieutenant Horst Selle. It served with the 8th U- Flotilla until February 15, as an exercise boat and then at the 5th U- Flotilla until 3 May 1945.
In dry dock the Germania shipyard in Kiel lying, U 795 was destroyed on 3 May 1945 by blowing up the engine room to prevent possible future use by the enemy.
