Germany women's national handball team

The German women's national handball team represents the Federal Republic of Germany in international matches and international tournaments.

The team has collected various titles in the past. The greatest successes were winning a world championship and a second place at the European Championships and the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in 1980.

At the World Cup in France in 2007, the team of Armin Emrich finished 3rd.

Over the years, the division of Germany the women's national handball team of the GDR represented the GDR at international matches and international tournaments. She won the silver medal at the Summer Olympics in 1976 and three world championship titles.

Jerseys, equipment suppliers and sponsors

By the year 1980 adidas took over the equipment of the national handball team of the Federal Republic of Germany. Then there were various other equipment such as Puma, the Danish company Hummel and Nike. From 2004 to 2008 there was an equipment contract with Kempa, a subsidiary of Uhlsport. Just in time for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, adidas again the equipment of all the national teams.

Unlike football teams Handball national teams have their own jersey sponsors. Thus, by the year 2003 was the fashion label gin and tonic to see on chest of the internationals, later, the fashion brand, Gerry Weber, currently the Schmidt group. Another sponsor is the German Credit Bank ( DKB) on the pants.
