Gernot Pachernigg

Gernot Pachernigg ( born June 14, 1981 in Graz, Styria ) is an Austrian singer-songwriter, pop singer and actor. He became known for his participation in the third season of the talent show Star Mania, which aired between October 2006 and January 2007 in the television program of the ORF.


Pachernigg was born the son of a single mother. Because of their professional burdens of subsistence livelihood she gave her son early in a foster family. Pachernigg therefore grew up on a farm in Lassnitzhoehe, where he attended primary school. After the years of compulsory schooling in the Polytechnic course in Sankt Marein bei Graz, he settled in the Pichler- works trained as an electrician and then completed his military service. He then worked for various electrical companies.

Musical career

His musical career began in 2000. With two friends he founded the band Graz, for which he also wrote songs in the style of Austropop. With regular appearances in Graz and its surroundings Pacherniggs band developed a reputation in the local music scene. In the summer of 2006 he went to the casting for the third season of Star Mania. After several qualifying rounds, he finally reached the final of the top three.
