Gerpinnes ( Walloon Djerpene ) is a municipality in the east of the Belgian province of Hainaut. It was created in 1977 as part of a local government reform by the merger of six formerly independent places. The three hamlets Fromiée, Hymiée and Les Lausprelle listed previously to the municipality Gerpinnes.

The Holy Rolendis died in the middle of the 8th century in the village of Villers -Poterie. Her grave in the church of Gerpinnes developed in the Middle Ages to important place of pilgrimage. Even today, the saints in honor annually at Pentecost a procession whose participants in uniforms around to pace the 40 -km-long border the district from the time of the Napoleonic Wars.
