Gerrit-Engelke-Preis

The Gerrit Engelke price of Hanover was conferred since 1979 Literature Prize, which was to keep alive the memory of the poet Gerrit Engelke.

The prize, which was endowed with 10,500 euros, contemporary German writers were honored. He has been awarded every two years. By Council Decision of Hanover of Gerrit Engelke Prize and the Kurt- Morawietz price were not awarded from 2007. Instead, in two annual rhythm of Hölty Prize for Poetry of the City and the Sparkasse Hannover has been awarded since 2008.
