Gerrit Glomser
Gerrit Glomser ( born April 1, 1975 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian former road bicycle racer.
Sports career
Gerrit Glomsers first club, even as a young rider, was the RC ARBÖ Wüstenrot Salzburg. International made a name for itself in the Salzburg in 1997 as part of the famous talent factory Mapei, as he was Austrian U23 champion on the road and at World and European Championships respectively won the bronze medal. In 1998 he received his first pro contract in Italy Scrigno - Gaerne. 2001 he moved to Switzerland to: Post Swiss Team, 2002 finally the first exposure to a GS1 team, the Italian Saeco team.
2002 and 2003 could Gerrit Glomser each win the Tour of Austria and in 2005, after joining the ProTour team Lampre- Caffita, Austrian champion. Since 2006, he travels to the Austrian Professional Continental Team Volksbank. In the Tour of Austria 2008, the all-rounder was on Grossglockner for the first time in his career Glocknerkönig, undercutting with a new record time of 47:18 minutes driveway the record of Christian Pfannberger set only last year.
