Gerry Fisher

Gerry Fisher ( born June 23, 1926 in London ) is a British cinematographer.

Life

Gerry Fisher studied since 1946, the camera craft. In 1956 he was engaged by the chief cameraman Jack Hildyard as a member of the camera team for The Bridge on the River Kwai. In the following years, Fisher was mostly working together on a complex production with Hildyard. 1966 Joseph Losey offered him the chance to be first used as a cinematographer. The cooperation was continued at eight other films. Fisher earned a reputation for being one of the most precise and creative camera men of his generation, and passed quickly and in international productions foot. For his innovative camera work in battle in the clouds Fisher was nominated for Best Cinematography Award for the British Academy Film, Monsieur Klein earned him a César Award nomination.
