Gerry Thomas

Gerry Thomas ( * 1922, † July 18, 2005 ) was an American inventor.

Thomas developed in the fifties, the TV dinner, one sold on a divided aluminum Plates for instant meal. The TV dinner was intended to heat the food in the oven and eat while watching TV. Thomas worked for the frozen food producers Swanson and used in the development of TV dinners, the aluminum disposable dishes for meals at that time already used in aircraft.

During the first sale 1954 Swanson could instead of the planned 5,000 meals to sell 10 million food.

Thomas died in 2005 from cancer.
