Gert Engels

Gert Engels ( born April 26, 1957 in Düren ) is a German football coach and former player.

Playing career

He began his career as a player in 1965 at SG Düren 99 and was from 1975 to 1978 with Borussia Mönchengladbach. After two years at SV Baesweiler 09 1980 he went back to SG Düren 99, where he finished his career in 1990. In Mönchengladbach, he belonged to the team that was German champion in 1976 and 1977 respectively. But it was no use Bundesliga.

Coaching career

In 1990, he moved to Japan, where he works as a coach. His first stop there was in Ibaraki Prefecture at Prima Aseno FC, ​​the club of the mutated later Mito Hollyhock.
