Gert Weil

Gert Michel Because Wiesenborn ( born January 3, 1960 in Puerto Montt ) is a former Chilean athlete who reached the final battle in the shot put at all major championships. Twice he won at the Pan American Games and eight times in the Americas championships.

Career

His first title was won because in the South Championships in 1979 with 16.42 meters. 1981 and 1983, he defended his title successfully. At the Pan American Games in 1983, he pushed the ball to 17.30 meters and took second place behind the Cubans Luis Delis. In the 1984 Olympics he reached 18.69 meters to tenth place after he had encountered in qualifying 19.94 meters.

At the World Indoor Games in 1985 he reached the seventh place with 19.47 meters.
