Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell

Gertrude Tumpel- Gugerell ( born November 11, 1952 in Killing, community Kapelln, Lower Austria ) is an Austrian bank director.

Gertrude Gugerell studied economics in Vienna. Since 1975, she worked at the Austrian National Bank. From 1981 to 1984 she was economic adviser to Finance Minister Herbert Salcher. Since 1997 Gugerell was board member of the Austrian National Bank and from 1998 Vice Governor of the Austrian National Bank and the International Monetary Fund. From 2003 to May 2011 she was a member of the Board of the European Central Bank. Since 1 June 2012, she is represented on the Supervisory Board of Commerzbank.
