Get Right is the first single by Jennifer Lopez fourth studio album, Rebirth ( 2005). The single was released in spring 2005 and reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 It was a worldwide number -one hit, including the United Kingdom, where it came from Lopez second number-one hit after hit Love Do not Cost a Thing the year 2001.

Background

The song was written by Rich Harrison and produced by Harrison and Cory Rooney. The song is known for its catchy hip hop funk beat.

The song was originally recorded by Usher as a ride, but did not appear on his album Confessions.

Music Video

The director for music video led Francis Lawrence. Lopez plays different characters in a nightclub: a DJ (the main character ), a go-go dancer, dancing at the bar, a bartender, a nerdy, a shy girl, a superstar and other celebrities who come to the club. The characters are introduced at the beginning of the video. The "wife" symphatiert with a friend, they talk about the work and drink this vodka. The dancer is dancing on the bar and entertain the audience. The superstar is admired and photographed. The superstar helps the shy girl who overcomes her shyness and now dancing on the bar next to the Go-Go dancer. Dadaurch all are encouraged to dance and Lopez takes on the role as a DJ. The video was nominated four times at the MTV Video Music Awards 2005: Best Dance Video, Best Direction, Best Choreography and Best Editing.

Parody

In an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which was sent on 16 May 2005, Ellen DeGeneres Lopez as a guest before Lopez was told the presenter: "The only way to describe my next guest is as my dancing partner, check it out ... " a video showed Lopez then as a dance parody of Get Right came into the studio. The director yells action! Lopez and dances along with the dancers.
