Geography
Geographical Location
Getelo is located northwest of Nordhorn on the border with the Netherlands. The community belongs to the Uelsen, which has its headquarters in the town of Uelsen.
Community structure
The two quarters are Getelo and Getelomoor.

Parish council
The municipal council of Getelo consists of nine Council women and councilors who were last elected in the municipal elections of Lower Saxony in 2011. These have formed a joint election list.
Mayor
Current mayor Getelos is Luke Scholte Hagen, who was elected in November 2011. Previously, Jan- Hindrik Schipper 2001-2011 Mayor.
