Gettysburg College

Gettysburg College is a private liberal arts college in Gettysburg in southern Pennsylvania. The college has 2,600 students from 35 countries and 180 employees. The school is the editor of the literary magazine, The Gettysburg Review. The sports teams are nicknamed the school Bullets.

Historical

The Gettysburg College was founded in 1832 as a sister institution of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. Both foundations date back to Samuel Simon Schmucker and Thaddeus Stevens, " the great commoner ", a radical republican and lawyer. Originally called the Pennsylvania College School.

The Gettysburg College is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
