GGobi

Ggobi is to visualize a statistical software for high-dimensional multivariate data with dynamic graphics and analyze. Ggobi can be fully integrated into R. Within the ggobi the Graphics Brushing and linking of data points is supported.

Overview

Ggobi was developed to visualize high-dimensional data matrices. The developers were interested in the exploration of high-dimensional data structures. The name of the software changed several times in the course of time, particularly because the underlying technology changed:

  • Mid-1980s: Data Viewer,
  • 1989: XGobi and
  • From 1999: ggobi.

Ggobi is released under a license which is a combination of three free licenses, thus ggobi is free software.

Graphics

Graphics can reveal more information about a distribution as key figures. Various tools in ggobi support the discovery of clusters, non-linear structures, outliers and other structures in high-dimensional data.

Interactivity

With the help of interactive tools data points or clusters can be highlighted:

  • Brushing
  • Identify
  • Linking
