Gheerkin de Hondt

Gheerkin de Hondt (* around 1510 in 's- Hertogenbosch; ? † around 1560 ibid ()) was a Dutch musician and composer.

He probably lived and worked until his death in his hometown, where he was in the service of the so-called " Brotherhood ", a community in the tradition of the Roman temple brotherhoods, which employed its own poets and composers for their rites and chants.

Of his numerous motets only a few have been preserved, but show his great musical talent and his technical ability.
