Gheorghe Gruia

Gheorghe Gruia ( born October 2, 1940) is a former Romanian handball player.

Gruia triumphed with the Romanian national team at the World Cup in 1964 and 1970. 1967 won the backcourt right to third place in the World Cup. At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 the left-hander won the bronze medal and finished with 37 -goal top scorer.

Gruia was the Romanian army club Steaua Bucharest active, with whom he won the Romanian Cup and the 1968 European Champion Clubs' Cup. In the 1960s he developed jaundice. In 1978 he moved to Mexico City.
