Gheorghe Vitanidis
Gheorghe Vitanidis ( born October 1, 1929 in Mangalia, † November 24, 1994 in Athens ) was a Romanian film director.
From the 1950s Vitanidis turned over fifteen films. With the French director Louis Daquin together he staged in 1958 under the title The thistles of Bărăgan the film adaptation of a novel by Panait Istrati. This film was shown in competition at the International Film Festival of Cannes. Two of his films have been shown for the top prize at the International Film Festival in Moscow Competition: A woman for one season (1968) and Clipa (1979).
