Ghetto Fighters' House

The House of the Ghetto Fighters ' (English: Ghetto Fighters' House, officially Itzhak Katzenelson Holocaust and Jewish Resistance Heritage Museum and Study Center, Hebrew: בית לוחמי הגטאות, Beit Lochamei haGeta'ot ) was founded in 1949 by members of Kibbutz Lochamej haGeta'ot ( " Ghetto Fighters " ) founded a community of Holocaust survivors. Some of them were former underground fighter in partisan units and participated in the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto. This included Yitzhak Zuckerman, deputy commander of the Jewish Fighting Organization. Named the house is named after the poet Yitzhak cat Nelson.

The museum, which is located in the Western Galilee, Israel on the coast between Acre and Nahariya, was the first museum in Israel, which commemorated the victims of the Holocaust and the Jewish resistance.

The house documents the history of persecution of the Jews in the 20th century, especially during World War II and the Holocaust. The focus here single fates and the various resistance movements in the ghettos and concentration camps.

Friends institutions are active in France, Austria, the USA and in Israel.
