Ghislain Marie Raoul Suzanne de Rasilly

Ghislain de Rasilly SM ( born July 9, 1943 in Juvardeil in Châteauneuf -sur -Sarthe, France) is Roman Catholic Bishop of Wallis and Futuna.

Life

Rasilly attended primary school and secondary school in Paris Notre Dame de Buky. After that, he entered the novitiate of the Marist Brothers in La Neyliére ( Diocese of Lyon) and studied philosophy and Catholic theology in Sainte Foy de Lyon. On November 6, 1971 he was ordained a priest in Paris. After that, he held the following positions:

  • Kaplan College in the Marist " St. Pierre Chanel " in Thionville (1971-1973)
  • The community of Marist in Tye (New Caledonia ) Employees ( 1973-1981 )
  • The community of Marist in Pouébo (New Caledonia ) Employees ( 1981-1986 )
  • Training course at the Catholic school in Paris (1985-1987)
  • Superior of the Maristengemeinschaft and pastor in Pouébo (1987-1995)
  • Superior of the New Caledonia region (2001-2003)
  • Kaplan University and Kaplan of secondary schools in Noume (1995-2002 ).

Since 2003 he was Vicar of the Province of the Order Pacific based in Suva. He was on 20 June 2005 by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed bishop and consecrated on August 7.
