Giancarlo Bergamelli

Giancarlo Bergamelli ( born October 28, 1974 in Trescore Balneario ) is an Italian former Alpine skier. Like his older brothers Sergio, Norman and Thomas, he was a specialist in the disciplines of giant slalom and slalom.

His first World Cup race denied Bergamelli on 12 November 1995 the Giant Slalom in Tignes. Five days later, he won the 28th of the giant slalom in Vail his first World Cup points. In the following years, Bergamelli could not establish a world leader and came mainly in the European Cup for use. Only in 2001 the results were again good enough to win World Cup points.

His most successful year was 2003, when he succeeded four times to achieve a place in the top ten. The best result of his career is a fifth place he went out in the slalom in Park City on 23 November 2003. Bergamelli participated in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and the World Championships in 2003 and 2005 in the slalom, but different in all three races from. In 2004 he was Italian slalom champion, the last World Cup race, he went in January 2007.
