Giancarlo Cornaggia Medici

Giancarlo Cornaggia Medici ( born December 16, 1904 in Milan, † November 23, 1970 ) was an Italian fencer. He won three gold medals at Olympics and was twice world champion.

Achievements

Cornaggia participated in the Summer Olympic Games in 1928 partly in Amsterdam and won the gold medal in the épée team there. Four years later, at the Olympic Summer Games 1932 in Los Angeles, he became Olympic champion in singles and won silver in the team. At the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin Cornaggia was the second time team Olympic gold medalist and took the bronze medal in the individual.

The International Fencing Championships 1930 in Liège, he won silver in the team behind the team from Belgium, 1931 he was in Vienna team world champion in 1933 in Copenhagen, also in 1934 in Warsaw, it was silver behind the Hungarian team.
