Giancarlo Corradini

Giancarlo Corradini ( born February 24, 1961 in Sassuolo (MO), Italy ) is a retired Italian footballer and current football coach.

During his playing career he played as a defender. His debut as head coach he gave in 2007 when he had resigned Didier Deschamps heir at Juventus. Since June 2012, he is an assistant coach at Watford FC.

Career

Player

Giancarlo Corradini began his career in the U.S. Sassuolo Calcio Club, then moved in 1978 to Genoa and AC Reggiana 1980. From 1982 to 1988, he then played for Torico Calcio.

In 1988 the defender for SSC Napoli, where he, along with players such as Diego Maradona, Careca and Ciro Ferrara, in 1989 won the UEFA Cup in 1990 and the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup.

In 1994, Corradini retired from active football.

Coach

After retiring as a player Giancarlo Corradini worked as a youth coach. In 1999 he came to Juventus, where he he was brought wurde.2004 Marcello Lippi in the coaching staff of the First Team in 2001 finally appointed Fabio Capello to first assistant coach. After the departure Capello in 2006 and the relegation of Juventus to Serie B, Corradini was assistant coach Didier Deschamps. After Deschamps had resigned shortly before the end of the season, Giancarlo Corradini oversaw the team that had already been decided as a climber, in the last two games. In his first press conference, he called himself a " small Mourinho " because he learned from different class football managers and worked for this. In his two games as coach of the Old Lady, the team reached a single point profit.

The day before the game last season, he announced to leave Juventus to look for a job as a head coach. Since June 22, 2007 Giancarlo Corradini worked as a coach at the SSC Venice, but was discharged on 30 August 2007.

In November 2008, Corradini coach of Serie D club AC Cuneo 1905, he saved them from relegation. At season's end, he left the club. Since July 2012 Corradini assistant coach is under Gianfranco Zola at Watford FC.
