Gianmarco Raimondo

Gianmarco Raimondo ( born November 28, 1990 in St. Catharines, Ontario ) is a Canadian race car driver.

Career

Raimondo began his motorsport career in karting in 2000, where he was active until 2007. In the 2007/2008 season Raimondo made ​​in the Skip Barber Southern Regional Series, where he finished on the 20th place, his first experience in Formula racing. In 2008 he went to the team Autotecnica in American Formula BMW. He won both races the first race weekend and finished the season as the best newcomer in third place. 2009 remained at Raimondo Autotecnica. He won a race and came in all races in which he reached the destination, among the top four drivers to the finish. In the drivers' standings, he once again took the third place.

After Raimondo had participated in 2009 in a race weekend of the Italian Formula 3 Championship and occupies the 19th place in the Drivers' Championship, he moved in 2010 completely in this championship. For Lucidi Motorsports starting, he finished the season in 16th place overall, while Stéphane Richelmi, one of his teammates, was runner-up. 2011 Raimondo went first for Moto Park Academy in the Formula 3 Euro Series at the start. For the fourth race weekend, however, he moved to the Prema Powerteam. With a second place as best result Raimondo was in the drivers' standings at the end of the season eleventh. His Prema team-mate Roberto Merhi won the championship.

2012 Raimondo walked into the European F3 Open for RP Motorsport at the start. Raimondo won four races and was twelve times on the podium. At the end of the season he was with 267 to 272 runners behind his teammate Niccolò Schirò. 2013 was Raimondo first no cockpit. In mid-September, he played for Trident Racing two race weekends of the GP2 Series.
