Gianni Ocleppo

Gianni Ocleppo ( born April 6, 1957 in Canale, Province of Cuneo, Piedmont ) is an Italian former tennis player.

Life

Ocleppo was 1979 and 1980 in the final of the Italian National Tennis Championships. In 1979 he stood for the first time in a singles final on the ATP World Tour. In 1980 he won two doubles titles and the following year he won in Linz his first and only individual title by a final victory over Mark Edmondson. Until 1987 he was a total of five times in a double finals. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1979 with position 30 in the singles and in 1987 with position 53 in doubles.

His best individual performance in a Grand Slam tournaments were three third- round appearances at the U.S. Open. In doubles, he reached the second round of the 1978 French Open.

Ocleppo played between 1980 and 1986 seven singles and five doubles matches for the Italian Davis Cup team. In 1980, he was with the team in the final of the World Group. In the 1-4 final defeat against Czechoslovakia, he came in minimalist last individual to use and was defeated Ivan Lendl in straight sets.
