Giant cell

Under giant cell is understood in a very large cell histology, usually with several misshapen or lobed nuclei. Giant cells are formed by nuclear division without cell division consecutive or by secondary fusion of several cells of the same type. To be distinguished, they are of morphological and functional syncytia. Some particularly large, but mononuclear cells also called giant cell, for example, the motor Betz cells.
