The Gibbon River is the right source of the river Madison, a source of the Missouri River, in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming in the United States.

It rises in the Grebe Lake at 2,450 m ⊙ 44.752066-110.5585092450 and entfließt the lake to the west in the Wolf Lake. The Gibbon River then extends towards the southwest, at the Ice Lake by in the Norris Canyon. There he passed the Virginia Cascades. It flows the Gibbon Hill and plunges over the Gibbon Falls about 25 meters in depth. After about 55 kilometers river he joins the Firehole River to Madison.

Fauna

In the Gibbon River kommem before brook trout, rainbow trout and grayling. He is a popular destination for anglers.
