The Samtgemeinde Gieboldehausen consists of first the villages Gieboldehausen, Oberfeld, Rhumspringe, Rollshausen, Rüdershausen and Wollbrandshausen since January 1, 1971. In the course of municipal reform the Municipality to the villages Bilshausen, Lake Constance, Germershausen, Krebeck, Renshausen, Wollershausen and Lütge Hausen was two years later, in 1973, extended. Based on the live - extension of the localities can identify that these villages mostly originated in the 8th and 9th centuries. In its original form and the villages contain a persons name that indicates the respective place mostly as those first settlers. Archaeological traces bear witness also has a longer colonization of space, which goes back already to the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Contrast, first documented references date from the 10th century (eg Bilshausen 952) and evidence of a sometimes 300-400 years belonging to the Dukes of Brunswick.
