Gieckau is a district of the municipality Wethau in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt.

Geography

Gieckau is located approximately six kilometers southeast of Naumburg ( Saale). As districts of the former municipality Pohlitz and Schmerdorf were reported.

History

Gieckau was first mentioned in 1148 as Gieka.

On 1 January 2010, joined the then independent municipality Gieckau together with the community Wethau the new community Wethau.
